Objective: Supporting local initiatives aimed at addressing social issues in Berehove and the Berehove district, as well as promoting sustainable development in the region through community mobilization. The program focused on encouraging and implementing civic initiatives by uniting efforts of local residents, NGOs, local authorities, and businesses.

During the project’s implementation, members of the ACCORD network participated in training sessions, familiarized themselves with the practices of European civil society organizations, and explored cooperation between governments, local authorities, and the public sector. As part of the program, representatives of member organizations took part in a study trip to Hungary, where they visited the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, local government offices, and social institutions operated by NGOs

42 civil society organizations, along with international experts, participated in a conference dedicated to discussing opportunities for cooperation between the European Union and Ukraine. Based on the conference outcomes, recommendations were developed for the National Strategic Plans and Indicative Programs for 2010-2013. These proposals were then submitted to the European Commission.

The “Confident Start” Child Home offers various programs for mothers and their children aged 0-3 years. The program includes consultations, training sessions for mothers, and developmental activities for their children.

As a result of this two-year program, around 400 individuals received social and legal consultations. Accredited courses in “Computer Typing Operator” were completed by 80 participants, basic computer courses by 72 individuals, and “Modern Household Management” courses by 60 unemployed women. Additionally, the ACCORD network was established, incorporating 20 non-governmental organizations.

English Access Microscholarship Program (2019-2021)

The Access Program was supported by the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, funded by the U.S. Department of State, and implemented in cooperation with the international non-profit organization Project Harmony, Inc. The program provided students with opportunities to learn more about the United States, its culture and values, enhance their English language skills, develop leadership abilities, and actively participate in Ukraine’s development.

Promotion of Emergency and Primary Healthcare Development in Zakarpattia and Ivano-Frankivsk Regions (2014)

As part of the project, medical bags with essential supplies for emergency and primary healthcare were provided to 32 feldsher-midwife stations in Berehove district. Additionally, two patient monitors were purchased for the regional children’s hospital in Ivano-Frankivsk.

Crisis in Ukraine – Humanitarian Aid

Crisis in Ukraine – Humanitarian Aid (2014)

Humanitarian aid was provided for the treatment of the wounded in Kyiv. With financial support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, medical supplies and equipment worth 2 million forints were purchased to ensure further treatment for the affected individuals. Assistance was also provided to internally displaced persons in Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv.

Humanitarian Aid

Humanitarian Aid (March 27, 2020 – April 26, 2020)

The charitable foundation “ZCRK Advance,” with support from the Hungary Helps Program, provided humanitarian assistance to the population of Zakarpattia region to mitigate the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the foundation has partnered with the Hungarian Ecumenical Aid Service and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary to deliver targeted humanitarian aid to those in need. In April 2020, the foundation participated in a humanitarian initiative, delivering personal protective equipment—clothing, goggles, antiseptics, etc.—to medical institutions in Ukraine. Later that year, in October, ventilators were provided to healthcare facilities in the Zakarpattia region. In January 2021, fifty ventilators were distributed to 46 hospitals across 10 regions of Ukraine.

“Milk Kitchen” Program (2000-2003)

The “Milk Kitchen” project aimed to provide supplementary infant nutrition in hospitals, particularly for mothers who were unable to breastfeed. This initiative addressed a gap in hospital menus, ensuring proper nourishment for newborns. The primary goal was to promote healthy nutrition for the youngest patients.

Public Works Program (2001)

The “Public Works Program” project aimed to support unemployed individuals by providing food packages in exchange for performing community work. This included participation in local improvements, infrastructure enhancement, and other socially beneficial tasks. The goal of the project was to provide assistance to the unemployed while improving the local community.

This included teaching children the basics of gardening and fostering collaboration between educators and parents. The project’s goal was to improve children’s nutrition while developing their skills in growing food.

The main goal was to enhance the quality of life for pensioners through active engagement in community activities and the provision of essential assistance.
