Humanitarian Programs

Our primary goal is to support families in difficult life circumstances by providing various forms of social, humanitarian, and other assistance. Since its founding, the Foundation has participated in numerous humanitarian programs, striving to aid those in need.

As a local partner of the Hungarian Ecumenical Aid Service, our organization contributed to flood relief efforts in Zakarpattia in 1998 and 2001. We also provided assistance to victims of the 2002 plane crash near Lviv, the 2004 explosion at an artillery ammunition storage site in Novobohdanivka, and the 2008 flood in Ivano-Frankivsk.

In 2014, as part of the “Development of Emergency and Primary Medical Care in Zakarpattia and Ivano-Frankivsk Regions during the Crisis Response Phase in Ukraine” program, the Foundation supplied medical and pharmaceutical aid to 32 paramedic stations in Berehove district and donated two patient monitors to Ivano-Frankivsk Children’s Hospital.

Following the 2014 Kyiv conflict, the Foundation allocated half a million Hungarian forints for the treatment of wounded individuals. Additionally, with financial support of two million forints from the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we provided medical and pharmaceutical humanitarian assistance. The Foundation also distributed food and hygiene products to internally displaced persons residing in Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv.

Since 2012, we have supported children from low-income families in Berehove and its district by supplying school kits, encouraging their education, and ensuring equal opportunities.

Under the Hungary Helps Program, the Zakarpattia Center for Development and Consulting “Advance” provided assistance to Zakarpattia residents to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 crisis.

From the onset of the pandemic, the Foundation has actively participated in humanitarian programs funded by the Hungarian Ecumenical Aid Service and the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

In April 2020, with the Foundation’s involvement, the first humanitarian shipment arrived in Berehove, containing 100,000 medical masks, protective goggles, shields, clothing, and disinfectants. The Hungarian government provided the aid, while its delivery was facilitated by the Hungarian Ecumenical Aid Service. This organization, which has led humanitarian programs across Ukraine for over two decades, coordinated the delivery upon request from the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Later, in October 2020, in collaboration with the Ecumenical Aid Service and the ADVANCE Foundation, 50 ventilators were provided to Zakarpattia hospitals. In January 2021, the Hungarian government donated another 50 ventilators, which were distributed to 46 hospitals across 10 Ukrainian regions.
