Our center has been paying special attention to catching up of disadvantaged children from the very beginning. There are a lot of distressed families in our horizons for whom our child development programs are a real help.

Since 2012, the establishment of social and professional cooperation in Berehove to improve the mental and physical health of children and their catching up at school has become our priority activity.   Between 2013 and 2014, the development of 60 disadvantaged children living in and around the settlement took place in the so-called ’Tanoda-system’ (after-school education), and the capacity building of Ukrainian NGOs working with children in need has also started.

The Sure Start House, which operates within our Center, provides literally sure start and safety for both children and mothers. The gap-filling project started in Hungary in 2017, and since then we have helped a lot of single mothers, mothers with many children and minor age mothers, provided them with good advice and, in some cases, supported entire families. Given the great success and importance of the program, further progress is expected for the Sure Start House in 2021.
